Dadauthor: C. David Nava category: Love know a named called Dad, he was supposed to be the best friend a son could ever have or had.
I know his walk in life was not fair, cracked and then shattered dreams of a life much more than the end did bring.
He stumbled and staggered toward the finish line.
I know this man, I know his pain, and his remorse and regret far outweigh his true fulfilled purpose during the time I called him Dad.
I know this man, this man I longed to emulate and then to please, before I withdrew and abandoned his love.
He stumbled and staggered toward the finish line.
I know this man far better today than say 30 years passed from today, but never really knew this man I call Dad.
I know far more of this man from the tall tales told to his grandchild and still never really knew this man I call Dad.
He stumbled and staggered toward the finish line.
I know this man, like I said, far better today In spite of the walls that keep us separated, in spite of lost or stolen golden moments. That only father and son can spawn.
I know this most beautiful man, I know I cried, when just a child. At the sight of his bags packed and watching him leave, maybe never to be seen forever again.
He stumbled and staggered toward the finish line.
I know this man, as only a father comes to know by walking in the shoes to big to fill.
I know this man I call Dad because I am he and he is me, together we will always be, apart but always still the same.
I now know that the love and surly the pain this man felt for each and every child he did raise was worth more than any piece of gold or broken dream.
He stumbled and staggered FOR each and every child a better and more fulfilled life than the end did bring for him.
I know this man, forever, he will remain the image of what my minds eye sees when the word Dad appears and I shall rejoice in those few golden moments ensnared in time.
