Godsend
written by: Dan Curtis Thompson

It was like the ocean, that night,
It was so peaceful, so lulling, the feelings so huge they stretched over the horizon,
None could see its end.
It was like a dream, that night,
So perfect, so wistful, it was too good, I knew I'd be woken soon,
Things like this don't happen to me.
It was like a ripple in the water, that night,
So calm, so quiet, but something tells me it will all stretch to far and fade.
Can I hold on.?
It was like a fire, that night,
So powerful, so warm, a kiss from within, so long it was awaited,
Her lips so tender.
It was my heart, that night,
My love, my soul, my care, all my romance and meaning conjured at once.
Such Hell, such anger, such pain and torment,
All worth it for that one kiss.
This ocean, this dream, this ripple, this fire and my heart,
All poured in one glass, served in one night.
My true smile can show at last.
If this is an ocean,
Let me swim.
If this is a dream,
Let me sleep.
If this is a ripple,
Let me grow.
If this is a fire,
Let me get warm.
If this is my heart,
Let me use it.
Let me love.
It all seems to good to be true,
It's a Godsend I've been blessed.
But if it ends.?
Oh, I hope not.
However.
I'd do it again.
For that pain was worth it,
She is worth it.
I finally feel worth something.
Don't ever wake me.
For once I'm enjoying this Godsend of a life.
