I Love Birds Me
written by: Steve B
Category: Humour
In the summer time in England,
I put food out for the birds,
Then they sit up on my fence,
And cover it with turds.
They wake me up each morning,
just as its getting light,
At four o'clock or sometimes five,
They couldn't give a sh@&e,
I work shiftwork in a factory,
I never get much rest,
But I'll pull a pillow on my head,
And try my very best.
They'll tweet and caw, hoot and trill,
Go on and on and on untill,
I give up, get up, have a wee,
Then go downstairs for a cup of tea.
I drink my tea and look out at,
Those birds and wish I had a cat,
I stare at them hard then look intense,
At all that bird sh@t on my fence.
With resignation and shake of head,
I go outside and crumble bread,
I curse the urge and inner need,
to put things out for the birds to feed.
