    Impact

    author: Alex Shane
    category: Love
    Whenever I see you
    At first sight,
    It's almost like looking at the sun:
    Bright, lavishing, brilliant, and beautiful; everyday

    As with the sun
    You are so bright and radiant that,
    The effects can be temporary
    Or even permanent.

    If I would have known ahead of time,
    Or if you would have had a slightly noticeable warning sticker,
    I probably would have been more careful.
    But now those effects are permanent, and I'm struck by you.

    It almost seems
    Like you're surrounded by a veil of natural light.
    When you appear,
    Your bright, shining face rains down on me like sunbeams.

    When I first laid eyes on you, over a year ago,
    I thought I was living a fantasy.
    Someone as beautiful as you,
    Certainly must be from a fairy tale.

    I realize that I'm not the
    Brightest bulb in the box,
    Swiftest star in the galaxy,
    Nor the strongest or fiercest predator that ever existed.

    I also realize that you are one of the
    Most involved people I have ever met;
    Most popular kids in school;
    And smartest academic students in the world.

    So far,
    As it appears,
    I'm not doing so well.
    But I do have a few positives about me as well.

    I am friendly to others and considerate as well.
    I have been told that I am very funny,
    and that I have always been there when someone was in need.
    I have a strong, loving, caring heart and a powerful intuition.
    Finally, I am creative in an artistic, musical,
    and logical senses; which includes literature.

    So that's who I am.
    You can add "shy" in there as you please.
    I'm not entirely "shy";
    I just fear that I may give you the wrong perception about me
    By saying the wrong thing or acting the wrong way with you present.

    But who needs speaking when someone, such as yourself,
    Can provide me with such welcoming splendor.
    Your beauty, elegance, grace, glowing luster,
    and stunning daintiness are included.
    With all that,
    who needs words except to tell you how beautiful you are?

    I would do anything for you,
    I really would.
    I will do whatever it takes,
    Regardless the dangers and perils that may come about.

    To me,
    You are the kitten stuck in the tree,
    The baby trapped in the burning building,
    Or even the kidnapped Elizabeth Smart.

    If you were being held at gunpoint,
    In the former Soviet Union,
    In the middle of winter;
    I'd be the first one there, even if I have to take Stalin down myself.

    If you were being assaulted
    Out in an alley somewhere,
    By a large gang of 280-pound monsters;
    I would have them all on the ground in a blink of the eye.

    If you were trapped in the World Trade Center,
    When it was attacked,
    And you were on the top-most floor;
    I'd be the one climbing up the stairs.

    But if, for some reason,
    I can't get to you in time,
    I would be there at the Hospital,
    With the most beautiful flowers in the world.

    I want to be there for you,
    To protect you,
    To help you,
    Or even to wipe away your tears.

    Lord, I would do absolutely anything for you.
    I would even change my entire actions or appearance
    Just the way you want it,
    So that you can be with someone who has everything you could possibly want.

    Anything for someone as special as you.
    I know this may seem a bit strange to you,
    But it was something I had to do.
    And I'm sorry.

    But I would kill
    If I could talk
    To you,
    For just a little while.
