I'm Just Four
author: C. David Nava
category: Love
His height and weight could never match the mass of his sensitivity and love he carried across his heart, but, never across his back. For he knew his savior long-before his troubled and delivered miracle birth.
His mind ran fast and faster still, as time did pass, but not without frames of time slightly askew by those that knew him not or the love he held or withheld for fear of the ridicule he felt would follow from the minds of those not yet developed.
His concepts and delivery of right and wrong kept him far from the center of some clicks and there is where he felt alone, afraid, and without much love till his ache drowned his fears.
His sentenced time of pain seems never-ending to his parents' heartstrings and must derail all the insults and harsh words that surely showered his daily play amid the sun-soaked days high atop the playground rides of childhood.
For it is every parents dread or at least those that give a damn, that their children be shunned or showered with insults and distain or that they suffer the wicked words of hatred at such the tender age of four.
His purpose is not fulfilled and he surely shall shelter the better part of all his needs with the wisdom bestowed to the parents that can care and see far beyond their own needs. And yet, my heart still aches, as does my stomach, from the sum of time I am away. Not able to shield him from the arrows of hatred sharpened by the devils advocate here on earth.
He is my son, all of four years old, placed here in our midst as one of the million miracles by God's hand and I am saddened by his pain and his fears. That they may have no end for him at this tender age of four.
But, this is not The End; by no means. It is simply the start of yet another journey for me and for my son of four. This journey is rich and fulfilling with some days of darkness, but only for a while, cause darkness can not nor will it survive in the bright light of His glory and I am at ease once again and so too shall he.
