Lies

They were all lies weren't they?
the 'I love you'
the 'if you leave me, I'll be nothing'
and the 'I care for you"
the funny thing is
you left me, and you were fine
But I was the nothing.
You also said you loved me
that was a lie
those three simple words
so small and powerful
it was a lie
you didn’t love me
You said you cared for me
you cheated on me
that doesn't seem like you cared at all
was that another lie that I foolishly
believed?
All those things
they were lies
every single one of them
and I believed every last bit of it.
