    My Old Friend (Addiction)

    written by: Mikael Hall
    category: Life, Addiction

Do you remember, the first time we met?
I know you remember, how could you forget?

I Changed your life, it was love at first try.
I put a smile on your face when you wanted to die.

I offered you comfort, even helped with your pain.
I defended your honor, while others called you insane.

Let go of your dignity, and swallow your pride.
You'll never need these, with me by your side.

You may be in recovery now, but how long will that last?
You've tried soo many times, and failed in the past.

Believe it or not, the obsession is real.
The cravings may leave you, but I never will.

You may think your different, and can quit on your own.
Many others have thought this, you are not alone.

Try all you want, but I promise you'll lose.
I've already stolen, your power to choose.

You've tried many times, but succeeded you've not.
How can you leave, when I'm all that you've got?

I'll be here waiting, when you want me back.
Patience I have, but its pride that I lack.

When it comes to your suffering, I don't like to share.
You may think I'm lying, but I really don't care.

Keep thinking you've beat me, but "Just For Today".
Remember I'm always, just a relapse away.

You can't live without me, you'll be mine once again.
My name is ADDICTION, and I was your friend.
