Simplicity
author: Laura B. Goodman
I look at you, and I see me.
I dream of all of the days,
That I get to spend with you.
You're my world.
The stars in my sky,
When I am down.
I look for you,
And all the pain goes away.
The strength to stand again,
The strength to fight for another day.
All of this you do for me,
Though these things you just cannot see.
To me you are everything,
I cannot believe.
The things that you have done for me,
The things I wish I could say.
The emotions I want to share,
You give me the hope.
You've given me the world,
What was it that brought you to me.
What did I do to deserve these things,
The gifts you've given me.
The time that we've spent in one another's arms,
What I would give to know you'd never let me go.
To know that I can always come back,
And you'll have your arms open waiting for me.
How I wish that you were here with me,
Together you and I forever we say.
I'll keep you close I won't let you go,
I promised you the world.
And that is just what you'll get,
You are one in a million I tell you.
And you I just cannot forget,
In my heart.
That is where you will stay,
As close as can be.
Though closer day by day,
The dreams that we've shared.
The times that have un-folded,
Self expressions.
The things that are never said,
Though we know are right there waiting for us.
These are all of the things,
These things that build a stronger love for you each day.
We could be parted by mountains, by rivers or oceans,
But nothing could part my feelings for you.
Though we cannot always be together,
Though we cannot always share.
I promise you this,
I will always care.
