Strings of Fate
Tom Fronczak
category: Unattained Love
So close, so far.
Each string of a guitar.
I am one and you are too.
Harmony leaves but a few
strings of fate. Hit us both
or pluck me not, but skip my note.
Play a melody to ruin me,
play a song of defeat.
But rhyme will eventually,
find rhythm and play this beat.
I reverberate my song of fate
in a hollow abyss, my heart.
In hopes that you too can relate,
and maybe together we can start.
A song of our melody,
a song in harmony.
A song of us,
a song of just you and me.
But it’s not up to me I guess,
it’s not a choice for me or you.
Just a song that’s a big mess,
trying so hard to find a tune.
