The First Day

Today is the first day that I saw you
Today is the first day that I called you
Today is the first day that I met you
Today is the first day that I held you
So long I have waited for this day to come
and now it is finally here
Today is the first day that I feel you so
close but yet you are so far away.
Today is Monday a special day,
it is the day that I first heard your sweet voice !
Everyday that passes is a new day for you and I
How do I stay strong and try and try
As day turns to night I find myself asleep
I wake up and scream and realize it was only a dream
Today is the first day, although it was only a dream
I must believe that between you and me that
someday my dream will become a reality
Today is the first day but I still hold on
and wait till the day I get to kiss you
I will hold you so close, you will feel my heart
beat... and then finally... I will be complete !
