Taken Too Soon
author: Talina Zimmerle
category: Mourning
Five years old and not a care in the world.
You were mommy's little princess and daddy's little girl.
Some bad people came and shot you down,
turning everyone's smiles into hideous frowns.
You're with DeVon now and we know that you're safe,
but it hurts to know we'll never again see your precious face.
Only Marquis is left and we don't know what to do.
All he keeps doing is asking for you.
You were his twin sister, forever his best friend.
But they didn't have him on their mind when the gun was in their hand.
Your parents are very sad and the rest of your family and friends are too,
And the one question we all have is why'd they choose to hurt you?
They could've had me; I would've gladly gone instead.
But that wasn't their intention-they wanted you dead.
To hurt everyone who loves you, that was their plan.
And that's why we'll forever hate the Ku Klux Klan.
