Tuscan Sun
author: Ahmed Baqi Mohamed Ismail
On the wet streets of Venice where the gypsies sing,
And the almond blossoms cry in the misty rain,
Pictures of you cascade in the falling sky,
A midnight street to walk under heaven's fire,
Where there is more to you than the shattered stars,
Tuscan skies that rise in the shelter of your eyes,
Heaven's bliss is the taste of your lips,
Harbor the wild child of the crying sun,
Heaven crush baby blue eyes,
Winter spells and the fireflies collide,
Glittering in the breath that silences the world,
A wicked prayer that echoes in your name,
Dancing doves in the everglades,
Mocking the vine of your touch,
A fragrant memory is soon to fade.
