I am waiting here below the ground
Because above the snow is all around
I want warm sunshine yes spring is what I need
For I am nothing at the moment just a little seed
I think I could be a flower but I don't really know
But if the weather changes I'll know that I will grow
I want to put some roots down and stretch out my leaves
And look so bright and beautiful blowing in the breeze
At last wintertime is over and the springtime begins
And up in the trees the birds begin to sing
The sod feels soft and gentle and everything is new
Now I know what's happening and I know what I must do
I push out my head and up to the sky I go
But I need some more sunshine and I know that I will grow
Just look at me I've done it I knew I would succeed
A wondrous beautiful flower grown from just a seed.
