You Said You Would Call At Eight
written by: Tanya Stanford
Category: Love
It’s just gone half past eight
I’m extrememly irratited ‘cause it’s getting late!
I’ve anxiously been awaiting your call
But it seems you’ve changed your mind after all.
Fianally the clock strikes nine
& I find myself going out of my mind!
I start to imagine where you could be
& why you would do this to me.
Maybe you’re with another girl
The thought makes me want to hurl!
You jerk ….
You said you’d never flirt.
Suddenly the phone rings
My heart skips a beat and begins to sing.
I knew you would call,
You said you would after all.
I rushed to answer saying I missed you
But to my surprise it wasn;t you.
As the caller began to speak
I felt the tears burn slowly down my check.
There must be some kind of mistake.
Why didn’t the other car just brake?
Please don’t say those words I dread.
No … it’s not true …. He can’t be dead!
